Where can I take my recycling?

For recycling at home, residents can pick up one green recycling bin at the Flee Center, 5033 State Avenue. Ask the Parks & Recreation Department and they can help to assist you. Items accepted include paper, paperboard, cartons, plastics #1 through #7, aluminum and steal cans, and cardboard. Glass is not accepted.

How do I get a burn permit?
Kansas City, KS allows residents two time periods during the year to conduct residential open burning. Residents may apply for a burn permit at any KCK Fire Station. The permit is valid for up to 3 consecutive days during the month of April, or from October 16 through November 15 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Outside of the two specified residential open burning months, few exceptions exist.

Who do I call if a street sign is down?
Call Public Works at 913-573-5400.

The Unified Government replaces faded, damaged or missing Stop and Yield signs within 24 hours of notification.

Other traffic signs will be replaced within 48 hours following notification.

Who do I call if a street light is out?
Call the Board of Public Utilities (BPU) at 913-573-9522.
Who do I call if I find a pothole?
Call the Street Division at 913-573-8307.
Who do I call about graffiti?

Here are a list of things you can do if you find graffiti in your neighborhood:

Call the codes hotline at 913-573-8600 to report it

If the graffiti is on a street sign, call the Traffic Engineering Sign Shop at 913-573-8349

I need help with my utilities. Who can I call?

RDA has limited funds available for emergency assistance. To apply, please visit our office for an application. Rosedale residents can only qualify for RDA assistance 1 to 2 times per year and must receive approval from our director.
