On August 21, RDA representatives accepted the Community Partnership Award at the Girl Scouts of NE Kansas and NW Missouri Central Region Appreciation event.
The Community Partnership Award is presented to a partner organization who has benefitted girls across multiple service units or communities. RDA was nominated for the award by Rosedale’s Girl Scout troop volunteer Jennifer Bates and Girl Scouts membership manager Amber Glasgow Elder.
“RDA is a fairly new advocate for Girl Scouts,” Glasgow Elder said. “Their troop started in the spring of 2015. Since then they have been on fire for girls and providing whatever we need from them.”
During their first year, Rosedale Girl Scouts have explored the Rozarks trails, participated in a 5k race, volunteered at local animal shelters, and visited LegoLand. The troop’s second year promises to be even more fun with activities centered around community, art, dance, and volunteerism.
Bates, who also attended the appreciation event to support RDA, said, “RDA is always willing to offer their [facilities] for meetings, get togethers, and recruitment activities. They have offered financial support, moral support, and physical support to our troop and service unit.”
