The following are the latest road closure updates from the University of Kansas Medical Center regarding construction for the University of Kansas Hospital’s Cambridge North Tower project.
As part of The University of Kansas Hospital’s Cambridge North Tower project, approximately five weekend closures will be necessary to install the pedestrian walkway structure that will connect the new tower to the Center for Advanced Heart Care across Cambridge Drive and 39th Street.
Weather permitting, the closures will begin the weekend of April 1–4 and continue each weekend through April 29–May 2. These closures will require a complete shutdown on 39th Street from Cambridge Street to State Line, including access to Cambridge Drive. Street closures will occur at 2 p.m. on Fridays lasting through the weekend and reopen at 6 a.m. on Mondays. If the closure dates change, another email will be sent out. More information is available here. The safety of our employees, students, patients and visitors is a top priority! All driving and pedestrian detours will be clearly marked, and we ask that you pay close attention to signs, flagmen, and traffic during this time. For your safety, please follow the appropriate detour paths!
