
Applications for the 2018 Summer Youth Employment Program are currently closed.
Rosedale Development Associations’s Summer Youth Employment (SYE) program matches young people ages 14 to 17 with local businesses for an eight-week summer job. RDA is accepting applications from both youth and businesses interested in participating in the program between April 2 – 23.
Youth are required to complete an interview, attend job-skills training, and participate in a job fair before they begin working. In addition to their time on the job, youth attend a weekly Lunch and Learn session to meet with an assigned mentor, who guides them through their first job experience. Each youth gains valuable work experience and career skills.
Qualifications:
- 14 – 17 years old
- Live in Rosedale and/or be a student at Rosedale Middle, Holy Name, Harmon, or Sumner
What you’ll gain:
- Learn how to work individually and as a team
- Learn time management and organizational skills
- Learn how to write a cover letter and resume
- Learn about the interview process
- Learn how to fill out a time sheet and cash a check
